A Beacon of Hope for a Deserving Family
Hey there, amazing people!
What a weekend we had over in Rosarito! Imagine this: sunshine, laughter, and a whole bunch of us from Byte and Journey To Refuge getting our hands dirty for the best reason ever. We were there for a mission – to build a home, hope, and a future for a beautiful family who needed it most.
Let me paint the picture for you: a single mom, her brave little boy who’s been battling health scares due to black mold in their old place, and a dream of a safe home. They were stuck in a tough spot, living in a borrowed house that was making them sick, and with no way out in sight. But that’s where we stepped in, and oh, what a difference we made together!
It wasn’t all smooth sailing. We had to tear down an old structure, say goodbye to the past, and lay down new foundations – both literally and figuratively. And yes, it cost us a bit more, but seeing the smiles and tears of joy made every penny worth it.
Our new approach to the houses is something I’m really excited about – we’re talking water sealing, textured walls, pretty window borders, and a splash of extra paint to make each house feel like a true home. It’s all about adding those special touches that say, "WE CARE."
Manny, our rockstar builder, was leading the charge once again. His dedication is just out of this world! If you haven’t met him yet, you’ve got to check out the videos on Instagram and our website—we’re so thankful for him and the builds he’s hosted.
But what got to me the most was knowing this family would now be living in a community, surrounded by loved ones. It’s more than just building houses – it’s about creating a space where families can thrive together.
So, what’s next? We’re not stopping here – there’s another build coming up in June, and we need all the hands and hearts we can get. Whether you can swing a hammer, share our story, or support us with a donation, every bit helps.
